Tomatoes Help to Get Rid of Varicose Veins

Varicose veins are enlarged veins. The predisposed veins to develop this condition are the ones in the legs and feet. Varicose veins appear because sitting or standing for long pushes too much pressure in the veins of the lower body. While for some people varicose veins mean a simple cosmetic problem, for others the condition may become uncomfortable and painful. If left untreated, varicose veins may lead to more severe health conditions and increase risks to other vascular diseases and circulatory problems as well. Many people opt for home remedies, when it comes to the curing technique of varicose veins.

What are the things that cause varicose veins?
Veins are crucial for the transportation of blood to your heart. It has been found that age and pregnancy are the two main causes of varicose veins` development. Aging stretches veins and makes them weaker. Women may develop varicose veins during pregnancy because pregnancy increases blood volume in the body but decreases blood circulation in the legs in the same time.

The symptoms of varicose veins
Varicose veins don`t bring pain behind them. The symptoms that tell you that you have varicose veins include, but are not limited to: bulging and twisted veins, in the form of cords or veins that have a dark blue or purple color. However, in some cases, varicose veins may become painful and in this situation, the symptoms differ, including: skin ulcers around the ankle that say you have a severe vascular disorder requiring urgent medical attention, itching around one or more of the veins, intense pain following standing or sitting for a long time, swelling in the lower legs, burning or muscle cramping.

Tomatoes – efficient home remedy for curing varicose veins naturally?
Did you know that tomatoes can help you with treating varicose veins? Because tomatoes have concentrated substances in their seeds, they are considered to have powerful and efficient healing properties.
It is considered that tomatoes have a certain substance in them that have the same effect as aspirin. This substance works as a blood thinner and anticoagulant. Tomatoes are also flavonoids-rich that have the main role of strengthening the blood vessels. If you are ready to relieve varicose veins, you can use both raw and ripe tomatoes. Here is what you have to do:

Green tomatoes
Green tomatoes represent a simple remedy that can easily improve this condition. The first step is to wash the tomatoes, then slice them. You simply apply the slices on the affected area and use a bandage over them. You can remove the bandage and tomato slices when you encounter tingling on your skin. If you find skin tingling uncomfortable, you can remove the bandage once you feel burning of the skin. Rinse the affected area with cold water, once the bandage and tomato slices have been removed. Improvement should show up soon after this treatment. You need to repeat this treatment five times on a daily basis. Some nodules will decrease, while some of them may even disappear within two weeks of treatment with green tomatoes.

Ripe tomatoes
You will have to use rise tomatoes the same way as described above; instructions are valid in this situation as well. You first wash the tomatoes, and then slice them. You need to apply the tomato slices on the affected area for approximately 3 to 4 hours and apply the bandage on them. It is also recommended that you replace used tomato slices with new slices over the 3 to 4 hours treatment period. If you want the best results, you should do this treatment in the evening or before going to sleep. There is no estimated time frame for this treatment; you apply it as long as you believe it is necessary. You can even choose the combination of ripe tomatoes with green tomatoes for a more efficient treatment.
